REPEATER INFORMATION
The Premier Repeater that is open and available to all Amateurs inCentral Indiana with wide area coverage is the 146.700 machine with a minus offset that does not require a PL tone.
This repeater is located at the WTHR Channel 13 TV tower near the intersection of 96th St. and Ditch Rd just off of Interstate 465, between Meridian St. and Michigan Rd. on the Northwest side of Indianapolis with the antenna at 720 feet.
The 146.700 Repeater is where you can join in on the Wednesday night ARES Net at 7:30 pm. And the Repeater is also quite popular with out of state travelers that are making their way one direction or another as they
pass through Indianapolis.
Also maintained by the Indianapolis Repeater Association is the 147.120
machine with a plus offset and no PL tone that is located on the Indianapolis Power & Light tower at 3600 N. Arlington on the Northeast side of town. The 147.120 machine is open for all to use any time, but it also has a closed Autopatch system that is available to members only.
Next is the 146.625 machine with a minus offset and no PL that is situated atop the Lugar Tower Apartments in down town Indianapolis. This is also an open repeater for all to use with the exception of when there is an Event Net in progress such as for the Indianapolis 500 Parade or one of the marathons that local Hams are participating in to handle all of the necessary communications.
For those that have UHF capability, the Association also has a 443.850 with a plus offset and no PL tone machine. This repeater is open to all Amateurs and it is located at the same site that the 146.700 machine is at the Channel 13 TV tower on the north side of town.
